Urban Beekeeping Zoning Codes for WCOBA region

In support of Earth Day 2013 and in response to the growing community of urban dwellers interested in beekeeping, we have compiled some information from the residential zoning regulations for some of the cities in our region that officially allow beekeeping.  Greene County beekeepers Bill Starrett and Terry Lieberman-Smith have worked succesfully with local city councils the past few years to add beekeeper friendly zoning ordinaces.  Some of these guidelines may be buried deep in city zoning codes, so we're providing links to the documents with code sections and page numbers identified to help you easily access the information you need to understand local laws.

Please note that the information we found is from the public ordinaces and codes available on city websites.  The laws, sections, pages and links are all subject to change.  We always recommend that you contact your local zoning department to determine the latest ordinances for beekeeping.  Now that that is out of the way... HAPPY EARTH DAY!
