WCOBA is excited to announce that monthly beekeeping meetings will begin January 27th. Meeting time will be 6:30-9pm, the meetings being held at Cedar Bog Nature Preserve, located at 980 Woodburn Road, Urbana.

Members of  WCOBA will be working with Eric Doerzbacher, Cedar Bog site manager. Beekeeping classes will be offered.  WCOBA will assist in maintaining the hives which will be located at Cedar Bog Nature Preserve.  Meetings will be the held on the fourth Thursday of the month. Using Integrated Pest Management, and research based scientific beekeeping, WCOBA is striving to keep our bees healthy, thus improving our environment.

Some of our members are participating in the COBA Ohio Queen Project based at OSU.  Our belief is that by improving the queen stock for our region, beekeepers will  help create honey bees best suited for our climate.  Feel free to join in the discussion and find out more about WCOBA.  In February, our guest speaker will be Dana Stahlman, founder of the Ohio Queen Project, and former Ohio Beekeeper of the Year.  For more info, contact Dwight Wells 937-477-9251
