About Us

West Central Ohio Beekeepers Association (WCOBA) is a not-for-profit association of beekeepers helping beekeepers throughout west central Ohio.  In conjunction with the Ohio State Beekeepers Association and other state and local organizations, WCOBA promotes beekeeping using modern (2013) best practices and new-era management techniques.  Our members and affiliates work to improve the genetics and availability of locally adapted bee stocks in collaboration with the Ohio Queen Initiative.

WCOBA serves a number of counties in west central Ohio including Clark, Champaign, Logan, Hardin, Union, Miami, Darke, Shelby, Auglaize, Mercer and parts of Madison.  WCOBA hosts meetings each month in several locations across our region.  Our monthly meetings cover a variety of topics for both the experienced and beginning beekeeper communities.  We share seasonal beekeeping activities, the latest best practices and management techniques, insights from recent research into beekeeping, bee biology, pest management, and Q&A forums with our attendees.

Are you an experienced beekeeper looking to network with a community of beekeepers to keep up to date with the latest science and colony management practices?  Are you a new or aspiring beekeeper looking for support and mentorship?  Attend one of our monthly meetings and check out for yourself what we're about.  WCOBA - Beekeepers Helping Beekeepers.
